Andrea Lopez Martheyn - Casa Directress (Spanish Immersion)
With more than 9 years of experience working with children of all ages, Ms. Lopez is a graduate student of environmental studies at York University and a MACTE Accredited Montessori Teacher. She strongly believes that children not only are messengers of love and change, but also great teachers. Ms. Lopez sees that children have come to show us the joys and passions that come from learning about our surroundings and the natural world. Thanks to her experience as a mother, her understanding of the Child’s world has transformed who she is as an individual. Like the butterfly when it leaves the cocoon and is ready to fly, Andrea is ready to nurture the seeds of those who will be under her care and protection for the school year. Ms. Lopez has tremendous love, commitment and enthusiasm for these little people who carry within themselves the dream and hope of a better world!
Maria Montessori has left us with an incredible legacy of knowledge and understanding about the world of children. Not only was she conscious about the distresses and challenges children face in society, but she also translated their necessities into a system of natural education that follows the child’s eagerness for learning and promotes peaceful coexisting.
I am very proud to be a part of such an extraordinary philosophy of education and to have the opportunity to assist children in spreading their wings to become masters of their own world and doers of their dreams!
