Chrissy Sadowski – Casa / Grade 1 Teacher

As a parent, I remember the moment my son took his first step. The determination as he prepared the concentration as he moved and the glee and satisfaction once completed. Prior to walking, he would hold my hand. Once he was ready, he let go. When he walked, I was there to celebrate with him. This truly transfers to a classroom and to why I love the Montessori methodology.

When you enter a Montessori classroom, you are entering the child's environment. Here is where they are comfortable, where they work diligently, where they socialize and where they grow. As an adult in the classroom, I guide them when needed. I show them the skills and give them the tools to work independently. As their guide, I observe and am always available to them. I show them the way and lead them on their educational journey by following their path of independence.

Chrissy Sadowski is MACTE accredited in Casa and just completing her lower Elementary training. Her passion for children is demonstrated each day within her classroom. In addition to the Montessori curriculum, Chrissy places a large emphasis on the environment, music, art and physical education.

"I am inspired by children. To see the growth each day and the willingness to take what's in front of them and thrive is amazing. My passion for Montessori is that the children have the tools to grow, to develop and to become independent all while respecting themselves, others and their environment. My passion for Beyond Montessori is that we take these Montessori elements and we expand. We allow the children to look internally at themselves and become an active, growing member in our community. This is what education is about: preparing the child for life."

Chrissy lives in St. Catharines with her husband, Mathew, their son Xavier and cat, Princess Fuji.
